Advocacy & VOLUNTEERISM

Alli is a believer in advocacy and volunteer work. Current examples include co-chair of the iaedp Communications Committee and facilitator of the twice monthly Carers of People with Eating Disorders Support and Education Group

Alli founded and created #ShakeIt for Self-Acceptance! a movement that sparked important conversations (and educated) about body, soul, and self-acceptance through inspiration and flash mob dance fun. #ShakeIt was scheduled to appear at a Clippers’ game to occur three days after Covid started. So no, that didn’t happen. Over 100 shirts had to go to waste, sadly, and the future of #ShakeIt is unknown. Honors:

  • #ShakeIt appeared throughout the United States including Capitol Hill.
  • Mayor Eric Garcetti officially recognized July 13th, 2017, as “#ShakeIt for Self-Acceptance! Day” in the City of Los Angeles.
