I like that there is some more research happening about eating disorder recovery indicators. And, I’d like to say that eating disorder recovery can still be possible even if a person doesn’t match what the article cited (reference below).
In my life, I have seen people who believed they could never recover, recover. I have known people with long-term, eating disorders who have recovered.
It can take a lot of practice to get there… But, when you think about it–people with eating disorders often have a lot of persistence (How much persistence the eating disorder take on a daily basis? Right. Point made.). So, if you can find a way to put some of your persistence into practicing some level of recovery–well, there can be possibilities.
If you don’t believe you can fully recover: OK. In fact, I think it is kinda a natural feeling when that eating disorder is strong–but it isn’t necessarily a fact. Maybe you want a little less eating disorder struggle in life. Start there, go for it, get help, and see where you want to go (or stay) from there. Just an idea…
