Alli and other #ShakeIt for Self-Acceptance! flash mob dance participants are on the floor of the Staples Center dancing. Alli has her fingers up and pointing up to the topmost stands. Behind her are smiling people in various dancing positions. All are wearing red #ShakeIt for Self-Acceptance! t-shirts.Alli founded and created #ShakeIt for Self-Acceptance!, a movement that sparked meaningful conversations (and educated) about body, soul, and self-acceptance through inspiration and flash mob dance fun. #ShakeIt was scheduled to appear at a Clippers’ game three days after COVID-19 started. So, no, that didn’t happen. Over 100 shirts had to go to waste, sadly, and the future of #ShakeIt is unknown.

Honors:

  • #ShakeIt appeared throughout the United States, including Capitol Hill.
  • Mayor Eric Garcetti officially recognized July 13th, 2017, as “#ShakeIt for Self-Acceptance! Day” in the City of Los Angeles.
